Competition details
The 2nd challenge will be divided into a Recognition category and a Control category.
Top ranking teams in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry-sponsored Second AI Edge Contest will be eligible to participate in the Recognition category. This new competition will involve implementing the object recognition algorithm developed for that contest in a field programmable gate array (FPGA) and linking it to autonomous driving software. Keeping autonomous driving in mind while employing limited IoT device resources was used as the basis to establish the categories for the competition.
In the Control category, teams will compete on linking a specified object recognition algorithm installed on a laptop with the autonomous driving software without using an FPGA. Participants in this category will be selected by the JSAE, which will provide a (software) simulator and evaluate the accuracy and processing speed of programs uploaded by the deadline. The top ranking teams will be eligible to participate in grand challenge be held on June 14, 2020.
Each team max. 3 personnel in both category.
Awards
2 awards for 2 competition.
Details will be announced in due course.
A keynote session on autonomous vehicle/mobility is planned before the Challenge.
